In Welsh, the area is named Eryri. A commonly held belief is that the name is derived from eryr (\"eagle\"), and thus means \"the land of eagles\".\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSnowdonia National Park was established in 1951 as the third national park in Britain, following the Peak District and the Lake District. It covers 827 square miles, and has 37 miles of coastline. The Snowdonia National Park covers parts of the counties of Gwynedd and Conwy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBecause of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats.
