The image is of a faceless man in a bowler hat, with Bulatov's self portrait in hius head, and then in his own head again.
Dimensions: 34 in x 20cm to in (71 cm x 70 cm)
Condition: some rough edges, small paper loss on the right edge, see photos.

Erik Bulatov is a Russian artist, who was raised in Moscow. Bulatov is one of the most important contemporary Russian living artists. Bulatov's works are in the major public and private collections in Europe, Russia, and United States. In 2008 Bulatov became an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts.
In the 1960s Bulatov formed the Sretensky Boulevard Group with Ilya Kabakov, Edik Steinberg, Oleg Vassiliev, Vladimir Yankilevsky, and Viktor Pivovarov. Named by a Czech historian for the block on which they lived, the group often met at Kabakov's to discuss and show their work as they were not permitted to do so in "official" settings. This group was more of an association of like-minded artists rather than a school with similar stylistic tendencies.

Through the Sretensky Boulevard Group, Bulatov became a prominent member of the loosely affiliated Moscow Conceptualists. This group, related ideologically rather than stylistically, has defined the "Moscow School" of contemporary Russian art as it is known today.

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.

See the FAQ for more information on shipping, tracking and insurance options.
