This is an original poster from 1920 adversting national war bonds for the reconstruction of France after World War One. They were arranged through the Credit Lyonnais.
The poster shows a hard working farmer, showing his respect to the fallen soldier who died defending his land, but now looks to help rebuild France with hard work and hope. The clouds behind show the storm departing and the weather clearing.
The text says, "Credit Lyonnais, Embrunt National 1920, Terre de France"

Abel Faivre was a French painter, illustrator and cartoonist. He attended École nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon for three years. He then attended the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and Académie Julian. He was a member of the Société des Artistes Français. He lived in La Croix-Valmer. Professionally, he created propaganda posters for the French Army in World War I. He drew comics for Le Rire, L'Écho de Paris, and Le Figaro.
The Crédit Lyonnais was a major French bank, created in 1863 and absorbed by former rival Crédit Agricole in 2003. Its head office was initially in Lyon but moved to Paris in 1882. In the early years of the 20th century, it was the world's largest bank by total assets.
Because of the age of these posters and their history, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The posters are traditionally folded up and with their age are creased. The good news is that when framed, the creases and tears press up well against glass, and any rough edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.
These posters are sent as unframed. They will be sent in a cardboard tube for protection.
