This is an original 1930s Pantomime Theater poster for Cinderella. It is an excellent example of stone litho created by one of the foremost entertainment printing leaders of the time, Taylors of Wombwell. An unrestored stone litho poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance.

Taylor's of Wombwell began as a small local printer in the 1890s in the then small mining town of Wombwell in Southern Yorkshire. Albert Taylor founded the company, but it was his two eldest sons who grew the business on their return from World War I by printing the publicity for a London theatrical agent whose touring show was just about to open in Barnsley. By the mid-1920s they were one of the leading printers of entertainment industry advertising in the United Kingdom.

Cinderella is a timeless fairy tale that centers on a beautiful and gentle girl who endures mistreatment from her jealous stepmother and stepsisters. Her fortune changes dramatically when a benevolent Fairy Godmother magically helps her attend the Prince's grand ball. As she hurries away at the stroke of midnight, she accidentally leaves behind a single, exquisite glass slipper on the palace stairs. The Prince, determined to find the mysterious woman, uses the slipper to locate Cinderella and ultimately marry her.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the art deco charm.

When framed these colourful and detailed posters can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time.

These posters are sent as unframed. They will be rolled up and delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
