The Château de Lavoute-Polignac is a historic castle located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of central France, in the department of Haute-Loire. The castle sits atop a hill near the town of Polignac, overlooking the surrounding landscape, including the Loire River and the Monts du Velay mountain range. It is an excellent example of a medieval fortification that has been expanded and modified over centuries. It was originally constructed in the 11th century by the Polignac family, a prominent noble family in the region. The family was granted the lands around the castle by the Counts of Auvergne, and they used the castle as a base for their military and political influence.
The castle's strategic location on a rocky outcrop gave it a commanding view of the surrounding area, making it a formidable fortress in medieval times. The Polignac family was involved in local politics and military affairs, and the château played a key role in their power base.
Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.
When framed these colourful and detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time.
These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
