This is a beautiful original mid century SNCF French railways poster from 1945 shows the French "Vale de Loire" or Loire Valley by Troy, depicting a lazy river coming out into the plains with the beautiful French countryside on the banks of the river. Although this has some damage, it has a special feel to it.

Troy (Henri Tanguy) was a French artist famous for his SNCF travel posters created during the post-World War II era. His work was part of a broader effort to promote train travel and the rebuilding of France, and his bold, graphic designs remain iconic examples of mid-20th century French art and advertising.

The Loire Valley, often referred to as the “Garden of France,” is a breathtaking region that stretches along the Loire River, the longest river in France. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. This poster has been stored folded, so there are crease marks which shouldn't be very noticeable under pressed glass.
