This is a rare old French energy poster from 1955 advertising "Charbon Richesse Nationale" or national bonds and investment in coal. It shows the French national bird, the rooster or cock, fashioned out of coal, with the French tricolour.
A poster that is unremittingly French and oozing with French national pride.

Charbonnages de France was a French enterprise created in 1946, as a result of the nationalization of the private mining companies. It was disbanded in 2007.
