La Goulue (Louise Weber, 1866–1929) was a famous can-can dancer at Paris' Moulin Rouge, known for her bold style and playful antics. Immortalized by Toulouse-Lautrec's 1891 poster, she became an icon of Belle Époque Paris and its bohemian nightlife.
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864–1901) was a French painter, printmaker, and illustrator, best known for his vibrant depictions of Parisian nightlife in the late 19th century, especially in Montmartre. Despite suffering from a genetic disorder that stunted his growth, Toulouse-Lautrec became a master of capturing the energy of cabarets, theaters, and brothels.
His iconic posters for venues like the Moulin Rouge helped define the Art Nouveau movement. He used bold lines, striking colors, and dynamic compositions to portray performers, dancers, and bohemian life.
Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.
These posters will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
