This is a beautiful original mid century SNCF French railways poster from the mountainous Basque Country around the Pyrenees by Roland Oudot, depicting a mountain village landscape with river and an old church.

The Basque Country is located in the western Pyrenees, straddling the border between France and Spain on the coast of the Bay of Biscay. It comprises the Autonomous Communities of the Basque Country and Navarre in Spain and the Northern Basque Country in France. The region is home to the Basque people, their language, culture and traditions. The area is neither linguistically nor culturally homogeneous, and certain areas have a majority of people who do not consider themselves Basque, such as the south of Navarre.
Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. This poster has been stored folded, so there are crease marks which shouldn't be very noticeable under pressed glass.
These posters will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
