This Rene Vincent poster is from the La Galerie Concorde in Francefor a 1970s exhibition featuring "a woman taking a golf swing in hot pink" from 1930 for the Brittany resort of Sarlabot near Houlgate and Cabourg.

René Vincent was a French illustrator who was active in the 1920s-1930s. He worked in an Art Deco style and became famous for his poster designs. He was influential in the Art Deco movement in the period between the two world wars. His illustrations helped define advertising in the 20th century.

Vincent was an illustrator for La Vie Parisienne, L'Illustration and Fantiso. When he came to the United States, he did work for the Saturday Evening Post and Harper's Bazaar. Most of his contributions to these magazines were fashion illustrations. When he came back to France, he created a plethora of advertisements for Bugatti, Peugeot, Michelin, and Shell Oil Company. His most recognizable work is the 1925 Porto Ramos Pinto poster.

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
