This is a Chilean poster from the govenment of Salvador Allende from 1973 which encourages the people of Chile to say "No to Civil war, and to defend the popular government. The image is of a mother and child breast feeding in early years and encouraging people to support their democratically elected government.

Salvador Allende was a Chilean physician and socialist politician, who served as the 28th president of Chile from 1970 until his death in 1973. As a democratic socialist committed to democracy, he has been described as the first Marxist to be elected president in a liberal democracy in Latin America.
Following Allende's death, General Augusto Pinochet refused to return authority to a civilian government, and Chile was later ruled by the Government Junta, ending more than four decades of uninterrupted democratic governance, a period known as the Presidential Republic (1925–1973); the military dictatorship of Pinochet only ended after the successful internationally-backed 1989 constitutional referendum led to the peaceful Chilean transition to democracy.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.

This poster will be sent in a cardboard tube for protection.
