1976 French Labour Unions Poster, Imprimerie Chaix, CGT and FSM, workers rights better pay and conditions, wall art decor

This is an original poster from 1976 advertising the French Labour Unions FSM and CGT for the labour dispute at the Imprimerie Chaix.
The caricature on the poster is Michel d'Ornano who was Minister of Industry and Research at the time.
The text says, "a quand le debat sur l'imprimerie, avec la 2e chaix la verite non deformee"

This poster was created during a labor dispute at the Imprimerie Chaix, a prominent French printing company. In 1976, workers at Chaix occupied the printing house to protest against working conditions and to demand better labor rights. The occupation was part of a broader movement of labor activism in France during the 1970s. The poster was produced by the workers themselves, with support from the CGT (Confédération Générale du Travail) and the FSM (Fédération Syndicale Mondiale), both influential labor unions in France. It served as a powerful piece of protest art, aiming to draw public attention to the workers' cause and to break the perceived silence surrounding their struggle.

Because of the age of these posters and their history, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The posters are traditionally folded up and with their age are creased. The good news is that when framed, the creases and tears press up well against glass, and any rough edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They will be sent in a cardboard tube for protection.
