1976 Marc Chagall Poster, Holy Family, Pace Columbus Ohio, amazing condition, Cubism and Expressionism, gallery exhibition, wall art decor

Dimensions: 32.5 x 25 in (82 x 63 cm)

This Marc Chagall exhibition poster is from the Pace/Columus in Ohio for a 1976 exhibition featuring his work "La Sainte Famille" or "The Holy Family" which shows the the Virgin Mary, carrying Jesus on the donkey to Bethlehem under the tree of life, with the Archangel Gabriel above and Joseph following behind. Chagall has signed in flowing script at the bottom.

Marc Chagall was a Russian-French artist of Belarusian Jewish origin. An early modernist, he was associated with several major artistic styles and created works in a wide range of artistic formats, including painting, drawings, book illustrations, stained glass, stage sets, ceramics, tapestries and fine art prints. He experienced modernism's "golden age" in Paris, where "he synthesized the art forms of Cubism, Symbolism, and Fauvism, and the influence of Fauvism gave rise to Surrealism".

This is an unused item has been stored flat in unopened stack of poster which were never used for the promotion of the exhibition, so are in amazing condition.

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
