This is an original hand signed poster from 1978 by Rodney Matthews, an inks and gouache painting, an early commission for Big O Posters. Named "The Face in the Abyss" It shows a blue and purple underground cavern held up by long, carved columns. The Face in the Abyss looks carved in stone, and an adventurer with a rifle holds up his hand to protect himself, while a purple serpent snake woman much like Echidna from Greek mythology powerfully looks down on him.
Hand signed in ink at the bottom of the poster by the artist.

Rodney Matthews is a British illustrator and conceptual designer of fantasy and science-fiction and designer of posters and musical album covers.
Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.
When framed these colourful and detailed posters can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time.
These posters are sent as unframed. They will be rolled up and delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
