This is an attractive 1980s Isle of Man travel poster showing a 1950s style image of Douglas Harbour to promote tourism in Britain. A young, well dressed picnicing couple look on. In teh foreground is the Tower of Refuge, and some cruise ships are at anchor in the harbour.

Douglas Harbour (Manx: Purt Varrey Ghoolish) is located near Douglas Head at the southern end of Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man. It is the island's main commercial shipping port. The Port of Douglas was the first in the world to be equipped with radar.
St Mary's Isle (also known as Conister Rock or the Tower of Refuge, is a partially submerged reef in Douglas Bay on the Isle of Man.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.

When framed these colourful and detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time.
