This original beautiful and colourful Bjorn Wiinblad poster for Carnival Cruise Lines from Miami Florida
It shows a vibrant, abstract figure—or possibly a collection of intertwined figures—that strongly evokes the spirit of Carnival or a masquerade. The colorful masks, elaborate headpieces, and dynamic pose perfectly embody the "Fun Ship" vibe that Carnival is known for. One of the figures even has a mask resembling a horse's head, and the clothing is bright and festive.

Bjørn Wiinblad was a Danish painter, designer and artist in ceramics, silver, bronze, textiles, and graphics. His work includes whimsical round-faced people, dressed in vaguely 19th-century costume. They are often surrounded by natural elements: twining vines, floral wreaths, and fantastical trees. When Wiinblad employed color, he did so with great assurance. His colors are saturated and strong—sometimes almost psychedelic—and are often supplemented with metallic gold or silver.

Carnival Cruise Line was founded in 1972 by entrepreneur Ted Arison with the mission of making a cruise vacation accessible and fun for the average traveler, a concept he dubbed the "Fun Ship." Starting with one converted ocean liner, the company quickly became known for its lively, casual atmosphere and affordable prices, primarily sailing out of its home base in Miami, Florida, to the Caribbean. The success of this model led to massive expansion, with the company eventually growing into the Carnival Corporation & plc, which today is the world's largest leisure travel company, operating a portfolio of cruise lines including Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, and Cunard Line.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.

When framed these colourful and detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time.

These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
