Kurt Weber was an Austrian painter who came into contact in Berlin with the circle of artists around Herwarth Walden , the influential editor of the magazine Der Sturm , in which the artists of the avant-garde were introduced and published. At the beginning of the 1920s he went to Munich to study painting and then to Graz, where he studied with Daniel Pauluzzi , Wilhelm Thöny and Alfred Wickenburg . Since 1926 he was a member of the Graz Secession.
Between 1934 and 1936 he studied in Paris, where he attended the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and met, among others, Robert Delaunay and Fernand Léger , who greatly influenced his artistic work. In 1936 he went to Spain, but returned to Germany via Italy after the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War.

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.
