1990s Egon Schiele Poster, self portrait with bowed head 1912, Leopold Museum Wien, Expressionism gallery exhibition, wall art decor
This exhibition poster is from Leopold Museum, in Vienna for an exhibition featuring paintings from the Austrian Expressionist, Egon Schiele. It features "selbstbildnis mit gesenktem kopf" or "self portrait with bowed head" 1912.
Dimensions: 33 in x 23.5 in (84 cm x 60 cm)
Condition: Some edge tears on edges, see photos.
Egon Schiele was an Austrian Expressionist painter. Gustav Klimt, figurative painter of the early 20th century, was a mentor. His work is noted for its intensity and its raw sexuality, and the many self-portraits the artist produced, including nude self-portraits. The twisted body shapes and the expressive line that characterize Schiele's paintings and drawings mark the artist as an early exponent of Expressionism.
What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.
Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.
These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard-backed envelope for protection. They have been stored folded.
