This is a poster from the 1990s depicting the Radio Frequency Spectrum in New Zealand as part of the Radio Frequency Service for the Ministry of Commerce.
It's a diagram illustrating the Radio Frequency Spectrum in New Zealand. It shows how different parts of the radio spectrum (which is measured in frequency and wavelength) are allocated to various services within the country.

Frequency and Wavelength Scales
The top horizontal scale shows frequency in Hertz (Hz), ranging from 100kHz (0.1MHz) all the way up to 50GHz. Directly below that is the corresponding wavelength scale, ranging from 1000m down to 1cm.

Frequency Band Designations
The chart also labels the major radio frequency bands along the bottom:
LF (Low Frequency)
MF (Medium Frequency)
HF (High Frequency)
VHF (Very High Frequency)
UHF (Ultra High Frequency)
SHF (Super High Frequency)

Service Allocations
The rows on the left list the different services that utilize the radio spectrum, and the colored and shaded rectangles across the chart show exactly which frequencies are allocated to them:

Sound Broadcasting: (e.g., AM and FM radio)
Television Broadcasting: (e.g., analog and digital TV)
Land Mobile: (e.g., two-way radio for taxis, police, etc.)
Maritime Mobile: (e.g., ship-to-shore communications)
Aeronautical: (e.g., air traffic control, aircraft navigation)
Fixed Links: (e.g., point-to-point microwave communication)
Amateurs: (i.e., Amateur Radio or "Ham Radio")
Satellite: (various satellite communication and research)

Because of the age of these posters and their history, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The posters are traditionally folded up and with their age are creased. The good news is that when framed, the creases and tears press up well against glass, and any rough edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
