This exhibition poster is from the Victoria & Albert Museum for a 1990s exhibition featuring "20th Century" with two examples from the display. A Bauhaus MT8 table lamp chair, designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld and made in the Bauhaus workshops in Germany in 1924 and the Hebi table lamp designed by Isao Hosoe and made by Valenti and Co in 1974 in Italy.

The MT8 lamp was one of the earliest manifestations of Bauhaus design principles. Right from the start this lamp was produced in two versions, one with a glass foot, one with a metal foot. According to Wilhelm Wagenfeld the earlier version was the one with the metal foot, executed shortly after Wagendfeld joined the Bauhaus metal workshops in 1923.
Hebi table lamp, a black plastic flexible tube, strong enough to be pushed into upright or angled positions with part of itself on the ground as a curled base (snake-like). Black shiny metal fitting and shade. The round shade has a white interior, and is cut off at an angle to provide directional light from a small round bulb. The whole fitting swivels on the main tube.

The Victoria and Albert Museum (often abbreviated as the V&A) in London is the world's largest museum of applied arts, decorative arts, and design, housing a permanent collection of over 2.27 million objects, founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The V&A is located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in an area known as "Albertopolis" because of its association with Prince Albert, the Albert Memorial and the major cultural institutions with which he was associated. These include the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Royal Albert Hall and Imperial College London.

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
