This art gallery poster is from the house of Latin America in Monaco for an exhibition by Michel Becker.
Becker is a curious figure. In 1993 he illustrated a book, Sur La Trace de La Chouette d'Or (The Hunt for The Golden Owl), shortly after its author Max Valentin had secretly hidden a golden owl sculpture at a location in mainland France known only to himself.

But while the other riddles, were eventually solved, the French owl is still out there. And, amazingly, people are still looking.

Michel Becker created eleven paintings for the book, as well as the final prize, the Golden Owl statuette. The statuette is 10 inches (25 cm) high and 20 inches (50 cm) wide, and weighs 33 lbs (15 kg). It is entirely made of gold and silver, with diamonds on the head. In 1993, the owl was estimated at 150,000 euro. A legal protector holds it in Paris. Becker also created a replica made of bronze, which was buried somewhere in France by Hauser on the night of 23 April 1993. The treasure hunt was launched on 15 May 1993.

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard-backed envelope for protection. They have been stored folded.
