1991 Rostislav Lebedev Advertising Poster – Absolut Vodka Glasnost Sots Art – Original Vintage Paper

An original 1991 Absolut Vodka promotional poster featuring “Absolut Lebedev,” created from artwork by Russian Sots Art pioneer Rostislav Lebedev.
The design formed part of Absolut Glasnost, an exceptional late-Soviet-era project in which contemporary artists reinterpreted the brand’s celebrated bottle silhouette. Lebedev combined red stars and bold Constructivist-style blue rays with the white outline of the Absolut bottle, bringing together the visual languages of Soviet propaganda and Western consumer advertising.

Lebedev, born in Moscow in 1946, was an important figure in Sots Art—sometimes described as Soviet Pop Art—and became known for his ironic combinations of political symbols, commercial imagery and competing cultural identities.
