This is a 1994 poster of Jean Toth's painting of colourful boats on an undulating sea by the rising sun from an exhibition at Chateau du Pont L'Abbe in France.
Note the tape on some of the edges.

Jean Toth was a French artist born in 1897 and died in Paris in 1972. He left Hungary at the age of nineteen to learn painting and arrived in France at the age of twenty-two, where he studied at the Academy la Grande Chaumière.
A painter and draftsman at the same time, it was while watching the Indian artist Nyota-Inyoka dance that his passion for dance was born and that he did his first sketches about this subject which remained his favorite subject. Indeed, he transcribed the world of dance using bright colors and canvases full of dynamism and movement.
What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.
Because of the age of these posters and their history, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The posters are traditionally folded up and with their age are creased. The good news is that when framed, the creases and tears press up well against glass, and any rough edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.
These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
