Paul Cézanne was a French artist and Post-Impressionist painter whose work introduced new modes of representation and influenced avant-garde artistic movements of the early 20th century. Cézanne is said to have formed the bridge between late 19th-century Impressionism and the early 20th century's new line of artistic enquiry, Cubism.
Around 1869 Paul Cézanne said to his young friend, the poet Joachim Gasquet, “To paint a landscape well, I must first discover its geological foundations”. His fascination with rock formations led to some of his most remarkable paintings and watercolours. Cézanne was drawn to areas of France notable for their rocky terrain, from the ancient Forest of Fontainebleau to the golden stone and shimmering heat of the abandoned Bibémus Quarry in Provence.

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
