This Sandra Blow exhibition poster is from the Royal Academy of Arts for the 1994 exhibition featuring an "Vivace" from 1988.

Dimensions: 30 in x 20 in (76 cm x 51 cm)

Sandra Blow RA was an English abstract painter and one of the pioneers of the British abstract movement of the 1950s. Blow's works are characteristically large scale, colourful abstract collages made from discarded materials. She joined the Royal Academy Schools, 1946-1947. She later enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, where she met Alberto Burri, her partner of a few years. A leading painter of her generation, Blow has experimented with abstract form, light, space, texture and rhythm since the 1950's.
Using a variety of materials and processes, she moved from a heavily textured and sombre style as seen in works such as Space and Matter (1959), to the more spontaneous outlook of Red and White (1982) and Vivace (1988).

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard-backed envelope for protection. They have been stored folded.
