This exhibition poster is from the Musee Departmental Maurice Denis "Le Prieure", Paris, for an exhibition in 1995 featuring Georges de Feure's Symbolism work, "La Femme À l'Iris" or "The Woman with the Iris" from 1897.
Dimensions: 23.5 in x 19.5 in (60 cm x 40 cm)

Georges de Feure was a French painter, theatrical designer, and industrial art designer in the symbolism and Art Nouveau styles. He was influenced by Jules Chéret in his posters for the café concert but most likely was never his pupil and became the key designer of Siegfried Bing for L'Art Nouveau. He created theater designs for Le Chat Noir cabaret and posters.

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard-backed envelope for protection. They have been stored folded.
