The Art Deco Weekend is an annual festival held along Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, celebrating the city's iconic Art Deco architecture and cultural heritage. Organized by the Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL), it began in 1977 to promote awareness and preservation of Miami Beach's unique 1920s–1940s Art Deco buildings.
The festival typically spans three days in January and features a wide array of events, including guided architectural tours, live music, vintage car displays, fashion shows, film screenings, art exhibits, street performances, food vendors, and family-friendly activities. Ocean Drive transforms into a lively pedestrian area, showcasing the vibrant aesthetic of the Art Deco era with neon lights and pastel-colored buildings as a backdrop. Art Deco Weekend not only celebrates design but also highlights Miami Beach's cultural history, attracting locals and visitors to experience its unique blend of art, music, and style.
What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.
Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.
These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
