This poster "Beren and Luthien are carried to safety" is from a 1998 collection of from Tolkien artist Ted Nasmith. Nasmith was asked by Tolkien's publishers to provide the artwork for the first illustrated edition of The Silmarillion in 1996.

"High above the realm of Morgoth, Thorondor and his vassels soared, and seeing now the madness of the Wolf and Beren's fall they came swiftly down, even as the powers of Angband were released from the toils of sleep. They they lifted up Luthien and Beren from the earth, and bore them aloft into the clouds."

Beren and Luthien are carried to safety depicts one of the great story images of The Silmarillion. the injured Beren is carried to Doriath along with Luthien, while below we see the fabled city of Gondolin, a reminder of how the stories of Beren and Luthien and the saga of Turin and Hurin and then Tuor and the Fall of Gondolin are linked.
