This is an original poster from the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen, Denmark for an exhibition from Sigmar Polke showing the work, "You can see what it is" from 1984. It shows some police arresting a suspect who is up against the wall, but is it justice?

Sigmar Polke was a groundbreaking German artist known for his experimental and satirical approach to art. Co-founding the "Capitalist Realism" movement, he critiqued consumerism and post-war culture through painting, photography, and unconventional materials like resins and fabrics. Polke often used raster dots and layered imagery to blur abstraction and figuration, blending humor with social and political commentary. Celebrated globally, his work is featured in top institutions like MoMA and Tate Modern, and he won the Golden Lion at the 1986 Venice Biennale.

What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.

These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
