2013 Man Ray Poster, Portraits, Solarised Portrait of Lee Miller 1929, surrealism, photography gallery exhibition wall art decor
This exhibition poster is from the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh for an exhibition in 2013 featuring "Solarised Portrait of Lee Miller" from 1929.
Dimensions: 27 in x 19 in (69 cm x 49 cm)
Man Ray was an American visual artist who spent most of his career in Paris. He was a significant contributor to the Dada and Surrealist movements, although his ties to each were informal. He produced major works in a variety of media but considered himself a painter above all. He was best known for his pioneering photography, and was a renowned fashion and portrait photographer. He is also noted for his work with photograms, which he called "rayographs" in reference to himself.
What is special about exhibition and gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced.
Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm.
These posters are sent as unframed. They are delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
