This original French school poster shows a busy French urban scene of a city crossroads. The city is a bustle of activity with busses, trucks, cars and people all busily rushing one way or another. Policemen direct the traffic and pedestrians and shoppers move about in their elegant French clothes. A scene from an earlier idyllic time.

Before tablets, projectors and even books, French school teachers used to use these posters to teach children all the areas of education - mainly in history, science and technical drawings. These drawings are from the "Images de la Vie" or "Street Scenes" set from Material Bourrelier from the library of Armand Colin.

Because of the age of these posters, and their use in the classroom, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years in the classroom are part of the vintage charm.

When framed these colourful and detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time.
