A stunning and rare Original BEA Rome poster from the 1950s, designed by Hugh Casson. Shows the ancient Roman Coliseum and above a plane flying in a deep blue sky. People are sitting on benches looking onto a colourful flower market. BEA operated from 1946 until 1974 when it merged with BOAC to form British Airways.

The poster dates from the mid 1950s and was created by the architect and designer Hugh Casson (1910-1999).

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.

When framed these colourful and detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time.
