This poster is from the recently closed Vinopolis, a wine mecca on the south bank of London, newar London Bridge. Vinopolis was a commercial visitor attraction in Southwark, London, England, London that presented the subject of wine and oenology through exhibits and wine tastings.
Dimensions: 17 in x 12 in (43 cm x 31 cm)

Vinopolis was located at Bankside, to the east of Southwark Bridge and close to London Bridge on the south side of the River Thames. There was an attached restaurant, Cantina Vinopolis, and wine was available for sale at the attached Laithwaites Wine Store. Vinopolis was devoted to the world of wine, including its history, development and taste.

Vinopolis was developed by the wine merchant Duncan Vaughan-Arbuckle. He chose a site beneath the arches of a Victorian railway viaduct that was built in 1866 by the South-eastern Railway Company to carry an extension line from London Bridge Station over the Thames to the north bank.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. These posters have been stored folded.

When framed these colourful and detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time.

These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard backed envelope for protection.
