The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the third game in The Legend of Zelda series. A Link to the Past focuses on Link as he journeys to save Hyrule, defeat the dark lord Ganon, and rescue the descendants of the Seven Sages. It returns to a top-down perspective similar to the original The Legend of Zelda, dropping the side-scrolling gameplay of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. It introduced series staples such as parallel worlds and items including the Master Sword.
The Legend of Zelda is a high fantasy action-adventure video game franchise created by Japanese game designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. The gameplay incorporates action-adventure and elements of action RPG games.
The series centers on the various incarnations of Link, a courageous young male Hylian, with pointy elf-like ears; and Princess Zelda, the mortal reincarnation of the goddess Hylia. Link is often given the task of rescuing the kingdom of Hyrule from Ganon, an evil warlord turned demon who is the principal antagonist of the series; The plots commonly involve the Triforce, a sacred relic left behind by goddesses that created Hyrule.
The original Legend of Zelda was released in 1986, but these posters are likely from 1990s-2000s.
